My Story
Pamela Voltz, is a Board Certified, Physician Assistant. She provides adult internal medicine services, senior and elderly care as well as specializes in pain management. She believes that looking at the entire person is critical in helping to develop a treatment plan that the patients can agree and participate in to improve or stabilize their health. She believes that giving patients time to discuss their medical concerns really helps to identify the patient's goals, desires, and background to make positive treatment plans that meet the patient’s needs. Prior to her transition to internal medicine, she spent 2-1/2 years in cardiovascular surgery and 5-1/2 years in Colon and Rectal surgery. She has spent a great deal of time with patients with cancer and understands the delicate nature of understanding patient goals of care, quality of care, and appropriate pain management to address their needs during these difficult times.
Pamela graduated from the University of Washington–MEDEX program with a Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies in 2013. She completed her bachelor's degree at Portland State University. Pamela has been in the medical field for greater than 30 years and was inspired to become a Physician Assistant while working as a surgical first assistant in Orthopedics. She has received multiple awards for working with underserved populations including the "Heroes" award from Salem Regional Hospital. She started and operated a nonprofit called "Without Strings" for six years in the Salem region with over 600 Salem hospital employee volunteers assisting her in providing medical care to their underserved community. She also received the "Robert H. Layton, MD Award" and “MEDEX Champion Award” from the University of Washington, for her commitment to underserved populations.
Pamela enjoys time with her spouse, dogs (they are my children), family and friends. She enjoys woodworking, creating unique lamps with repurposed items, and general fix-it projects around the house.
